Special Recogntion

October 2009: At the state journalism convention, held on the University of Iowa campus Oct. 29, the 2008-2009 PIRATE PRESS newspaper staff won first in the state for graphics, second in the state for photography and third in the state for writing.

October 2009: Sophomore Olivia Wright placed 2nd in the On-The-Spot Digital Photography contest at the state journalism conference held at the University of Iowa.
